Budapest, St Stephen's Basilica, Hungary

Information about St Stephen's Basilica (Budapest-Hungary) Photos Concerts

The church is named of Saint Stephen, the first King of Hungary (975-1038)

This is one of the most significant tourist attractions and the third biggest building in Hungary, houses the mummified right hand of King Stephen.

Equal with the Hungarian Parliament building it is one of the two highest buildings in Budapest (96 m, 315 ft). It has a width of 55 meters (180 ft) and length of 87,5 m (287 ft). It was completed in 1905 after more than 50 years construction according to the plans of Joseph Hild, Miklos Ybl and Joseph Kauser. Much of the delay can be attributed to the collapse of the original dome in 1868 which required rebuilding.

St Stephen’s Basilica provides great acoustics that will allow to enjoy the rich sounds of a lone soloist or a full orchestra. Welcome in our classical music concerts! For further information please contact us: dkn@concertsinbudapest.com or visit our website (the same address)
